Job Opportunity: Nursery Practitioner (LEVEL 3 REQUIRED) Reporting to: Senior nursery staff and management Location: Two nursery school branches in London – Putney (SW15 6EH) and Southfields (SW19 6SP) Qualified and experienced staff holding a Level 3 qualification or above and with over one year of experience are offered a salary of £31,000 per annum, plus a £1,000 performance-related bonus, making the total annual package £32,000. Level 2 qualified staff are offered a salary of £25,000 per annum, with an additional £1,000 performance-related bonus, totalling £26,000. Full training support is provided for those looking to progress to a Level 3 qualification. Unqualified staff or those currently studying are offered £25,000 per annum, with a £500 performance-related bonus, totalling £25,500. Full training is funded for both Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, with three shift options available: 7:15am–5:15pm, 8:00am–6:00pm, or 8:30am–6:30pm. Each day includes a one-hour lunch break and a 15-minute coffee or tea break. Staff receive between 24 and 25 days of annual leave, plus eight bank holidays, totalling 33 days off per year. An additional day off is given every two weeks, adding 26 extra days off annually, which brings the total to 59 days off per year. Further holiday can be accrued through loyalty and promotions. The organisation only promotes internally, with opportunities to progress to roles such as Senior Nursery Teacher (up to £33,600) and Junior Manager (up to £41,600). In the past 12 months, 20 internal promotions have been made. Comprehensive training is provided, including paediatric first aid and a wide range of online courses. Support is also available for professional development in areas such as special educational needs (SEN), child development, and management training. Additional benefits include a cycle to work scheme, in-house chefs and housekeepers to manage meals and cleaning, a free mental health and wellbeing programme for all staff, refreshments during breaks, and a stylish uniform provided at no cost. Roles are available in both baby rooms and main nursery classrooms. Responsibilities include maintaining high standards in line with the nursery’s educational philosophy, implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and accurately documenting each child’s development through planning, observation, and record-keeping. Practitioners are responsible for a key group of children and must prepare learning journeys each term, monitor care needs, and communicate with parents regularly. Daily tasks involve preparing activities, ensuring child safety and hygiene, monitoring illnesses in line with nursery policies, and maintaining the learning environment. Practitioners are expected to interact actively with children through play, songs, reading, and games. Other duties include supervising meals, changing nappies, creating classroom displays, washing up materials after use, and helping new children settle in. Practitioners should communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and carers, maintain professional relationships, and be flexible in daily nursery operations. Attendance at occasional out-of-hours events, parent evenings, and staff meetings is also expected. Staff are expected to represent the nursery positively at all times, both inside and outside of working hours. Teamwork and a commitment to maintaining the nursery’s standards and ethos are essential to the role
