Early Years Practitioner Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, kind and skilled Early Years Practitioner to join a thriving Montessori Nursery with children aged 6months – 6years, working in the preschool room.
This well-established Montessori nursery has been servicing the local community for over 20 years. Each member of the staff team is valued, and the nursery recognises that people can bring different ideas and suggestions all of which are equally valued. Team members as considered extended family and many of the staff have worked with the school for many years.
Early Years Practitioner Responsibilities
Our Early Years Practitioners are fully involved in the day-to-day teaching and planning of the Nursery in line with the EYFS framework and Montessori method. The successful candidate will be responsible for a small number of children as their key person, settling in new children and working closely with their families.
Our Early Years Practitioners are also responsible for keeping records and reports for all their key children and meeting regularly with parents at drop off and pick up and at parents’ evenings to keep the parents informed of their child’s development.

Experience
· 1-2 years nursery experience disirable
Early Years Practitioner Requirements
· NVQ Level 3
· Good organisational skills
· Proficient in lesson planning for EYFS children with different levels of development and ability
· Paediatric first aid trained (desirable)
· Proficient in technology, preferably passionate about using technology for education
· Excellent communication skills
· Understanding of the importance of Safeguarding
· Able to work as part of a team and use your own initiative to respond to day-to-day situations
· Have a willingness to learn, be adaptable and passionate about nurturing and developing each child’s skills to allow them to prosper academically, socially, emotionally, morally, culturally and spiritually
· Commitment to your role and being an inspiration to the children throughout the school
· Have a fun, can do attitude
· A willingness to meet challenges with enthusiasm and to contribute as a team member is essential
