Nursery Teaching Assistant - Camden Primary School - Immediate Start
Pertemps Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Camden to recruit a Nursery Teaching Assistant for an immediate start.
This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support to a non-verbal child in the nursery class. The position will run until the end of the current school term, with the potential to continue from September 2025.
Location: Camden
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only (Until July, with possible extension)
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
About the Role:
Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a non-verbal child in the nursery class
Assist with communication strategies, such as visual supports and gesture-based communication
Foster a calm, nurturing environment that promotes engagement and interaction
Support with routine care tasks and daily transitions
Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to support the child’s learning and development
Monitor progress and contribute to reports and planning discussions
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working in an Early Years setting, ideally with children who are non-verbal or have communication difficulties
Be patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic about supporting young children
Be confident using or learning visual communication tools (e.g., PECS, Makaton – training can be provided)
Be proactive and adaptable, with a strong commitment to inclusive practice
Work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and parents
