Job Description

Nurture Support Assistant (Thrive Approach) Location: Darwen Contract: Temporary (January 2026 - July 2026) with potential to become permanent Hours: Full-time, term-time only About the Role: We are seeking a caring and proactive Nurture Support Assistant to join our mainstream primary school in Darwen. This role is perfect for someone trained in the Thrive Approach (or willing to train) who can deliver targeted emotional and social support to children who need it most. You will work across all classes, pulling small groups of pupils for structured sessions that build resilience, confidence, and positive relationships. Your focus will be on supporting underprivileged children and helping them thrive both emotionally and academically. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver small group sessions using the Thrive Approach. Support pupils' emotional well-being and social development. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff. Monitor progress and contribute to individual support plans. Promote inclusion and positive behaviour across the school.What We're Looking For: Thrive-trained (or strong willingness to train). Experience working with children in a primary setting.
