Occupational Hygienist - Hinkley Point C
📍 On-Site | Hinkley Point C (HPC), Somerset
📅 Initial 6-Month Contract | Long-Term Project (12+ Months Remaining)
💷 £550/day (Inside IR35) + £50/day uplift if based 50+ miles from site
🕐 Flexible Work Patterns - Mon-Fri or Rotations (e.g. 10 on / 4 off)

We're looking for a qualified Occupational Hygienist to join the team at Hinkley Point C, the UK's landmark nuclear new build project. You'll be supporting a major construction contractor with on-site health protection and regulatory compliance across a complex, high-hazard environment.
The Role
6-month initial contract with strong potential to extend - 12+ months of work remaining
Inside IR35, paid via umbrella or PAYE
£550/day + £50/day travel uplift (if commuting from 50+ miles away)
Immediate start preferred
Choose from standard Monday to Friday or rotational shift patterns (e.g. 10 days on / 4 days off)
Key Responsibilities
Conduct occupational hygiene assessments, including air monitoring, noise, vibration, and hazardous substances
Ensure compliance with COSHH and other relevant health regulations
Support implementation of health surveillance and exposure control programs
Produce technical reports and advise project HSE management
Engage with on-site teams to promote best practice and risk reduction
Essential Requirements
BOHS qualifications/certifications (e.g. W501-W507 or equivalent)
Experience in construction, infrastructure, or heavy industry environments
Strong knowledge of occupational hygiene regulations and practices
Clear, confident communicator with strong report-writing skills
Previous work on nuclear or major infrastructure projects is a bonus
