Job Title: Band 6 Occupational Therapist – Older Adult Inpatient Mental Health
Location: Willow Ward, Woodlands, Heath Road, Ipswich, IP4 5PD
Pay Rate: £26 per hour (LTD); PAYE options available
Contract Type: Full-Time Locum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00 or 09:00–17:00
Team: AHP Team – Woodlands/Willows Ward Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the dedicated Older Adult Inpatient Mental Health Team based on Willow Ward at Woodlands, Ipswich. This role forms part of a supportive and multidisciplinary Allied Health Professionals (AHP) team, providing crucial care to older adults with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver patient-centered occupational therapy interventions for older adults in an inpatient mental health setting.
Conduct comprehensive functional assessments and contribute to care planning and discharge processes.
Work collaboratively with the wider MDT, including nursing, medical, psychology, and social care staff.
Develop and implement treatment plans to enhance functional independence and quality of life.
Contribute to safeguarding processes and mental health care reviews.
Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and legal standards.Requirements:
HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
Proven experience working in a mental health setting, preferably with older adults.
Strong communication, assessment, and care planning skills.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of relevant mental health legislation and safeguarding procedures.Benefits:
