Hybrid Mental Health Occupational Therapist Role
Job Title: Locum Occupational Therapist
Location: Medway but hybrid working (2-3 days from home)
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: Ongoing
* Locum Specialist Occupational Therapist – Functional Assessments (Mental Health & Learning Disabilities) - up to £40 p/h (6 month contract) Candidates MUST be a car driver (with access to a car). Business cover is ESSENTIAL.
* Hybrid working based in Medway.
* To provide specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions for individuals with mental health conditions and/or learning disabilities. The postholder will focus on conducting comprehensive functional assessments to inform care planning, risk management, and support packages that promote independence, safety, and quality of life.
* Undertake specialist functional assessments in a variety of settings (e.g., home, supported living, residential care).
* Evaluate clients’ ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) and to set goals and outcomes.
* Identify strengths, needs, and risks to inform person-centred care planning.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (MDT) to develop and implement tailored intervention plans.
* Provide expert advice on equipment, adaptations, and environmental modifications.
* Contribute to Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interests decisions where appropriate.
* Support applications for Continuing Healthcare (CHC), Section 117 aftercare, and other funding streams through detailed functional reports.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.
