Job Description
Are you an experienced Overhead Line Design Engineer looking to work on impactful projects across the UK power infrastructure sector?
My client, a leading provider of design solutions to the transmission and distribution industry, is seeking a talented engineer with 2 to 3+ years' experience to join their growing team. This is an opportunity to contribute to high-profile energy projects, deliver high-quality technical outputs, and grow your career in a forward-thinking, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce and check overhead line designs using industry-standard software.
Deliver technical documentation considering key factors such as electrical clearances, structural upgrades, and construction constraints.
Ensure design outputs meet statutory, CDM and industry standards.
Work closely with Project Managers to deliver on time, within budget and to client satisfaction.
Support and mentor junior team members while sharing technical knowledge across the organisation.
Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the design process.
Required Skills & Experience:
Engineering degree (Civil or Mechanical) - essential.
2-3+ years' experience in overhead line design.
Proficient in Power Line Systems software.
Experience working within power line, telecoms or utilities sectors.
Proven ability to manage workload effectively and raise risks where appropriate.
Strong communication, documentation, and mentoring skills.
