Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced On-Site Surveyor to join our team, covering projects across London and the surrounding areas. The role involves carrying out site surveys for general internal and external works as well as specialist passive fire protection surveys (fire stopping and fire doors).
This is a mobile role and will require travel between sites. Applicants must therefore hold a full UK driving licence and be over 25 years of age (for insurance purposes).
Key Responsibilities
*
Carry out accurate site surveys for general building works (internal and external repairs, refurbishments, and upgrades).
*
Undertake surveys for passive fire protection works, including fire stopping and fire doors.
*
Identify scope of works and capture all relevant details (measurements, photographs, floor plans, access issues).
*
Produce clear, detailed reports and survey documentation for project managers and clients.
*
Liaise with residents, site staff, and clients to arrange appointments and ensure smooth access.
*
Ensure surveys are completed in line with building regulations, fire safety standards, and company procedures.
*
Support the wider operations team by advising on feasibility, scope, and compliance during pre-works.
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Surveyor within construction, refurbishment, or fire protection.
*
Knowledge of general building works (carpentry, plastering, externals, etc.).
*
Competency in fire stopping and fire door surveys (desirable qualifications: FIRAS, BM Trada, ASFP training).
*
Strong understanding of relevant building and fire safety regulations.
*
Full UK Driving Licence.
*
Must be 25 years of age or older (insurance requirement).
*
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Desirable:
*
NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection or Fire Doors.
*
Experience in social housing or commercial property projects.
*
Competence using digital survey/reporting tools (e.g. OneTrace, Bolster, Excel-based templates).
