Role Title: OpenShift Administrator
Location: Sheffield/Hybrid (3 days per week on site)
Duration: 12 months
Rate: £415 per day inside ir35
Role Description:
As an OpenShift Administrator you'll responsible for deploying, configuring, and managing OpenShift clusters that host workloads migrated from VMware. This role ensures platform stability, security, and performance while supporting automation and integration throughout the migration process. The administrator will work closely with infrastructure and application teams to maintain a resilient and scalable container platform.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deploy, configure, and manage OpenShift clusters to support migrated workloads from VMware.
* Perform cluster installation, upgrades, patching, and scaling to meet operational and business needs.
* Configure networking components, including CNI plugins, ingress controllers, and load balancers for secure connectivity.
* Integrate storage solutions with OpenShift clusters to ensure performance and availability.
* Monitor cluster health and performance, implementing proactive maintenance and troubleshooting.
* Collaborate with infrastructure and DevOps teams to support automation and integration during migration.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Strong experience in OpenShift and Kubernetes administration, including cluster installation and lifecycle management.
* Proficiency in Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
* Solid understanding of networking concepts (CNI, ingress, load balancers) and storage integration.
* Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform) and scripting (Bash, Python).
