Job Description
Planning and Logistics Manager
Reading Area 3 days at site/hybrid
£55,000- £60,000pa + benefits
You will be responsible for overseeing inventory planning warehouse operations, global logistics, and leading the demand planning strategy to support the efficient global movement of products. You will take a hands-on approach to managing a dynamic team, working closely with global commercial and operational stakeholders to ensure just-in-time inventory positioning and cost-effective delivery. Ideally you will have experience in fmcg, consumer or pharmaceutical industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Ultimate responsibility for the day-to-day warehouse operations
Manage all logistics operations, including freight procurement, contract negotiation, and relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and airlines
Ensuring the provision of a first-class service in the most cost-effective manner
Implement a global demand planning strategy
Manage the receiving / despatch of goods in line with customer needs while ensuring individual and team KPI's are met.
Ensure that all inventory is accounted for and stored correctly.
Maintain strong compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
Champion continuous improvement and operational excellence

Key Skills/Experience:
Proven experience in operations and logistics management, ideally in a global supply chain environment
Proven experience of delivering against agreed budgets and KPI's
Proven leadership abilities with the presence and charisma to lead a sizeable team
An understanding of CI techniques, KPI management, Employment Law and H&S legislation
Strong understanding and hands-on experience in demand planning and freight procurement
Commercially minded with excellent negotiation skills and cost control focus
Highly proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems
