OPERATIONS MANAGER (Fabrication) We are recruiting for an Operations Manager to work for our client who are located in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. THE DUTIES OF AN OPERTIONS MANAGER: KPI’S: Meet performance standards as set out in the Financial budget and quality standards set out in the ISO9001:2015 quality plan. Performance Review objectives. Deliver Operations projects on-time, in-budget and to-specification. Create & deliver Manufacturing plan to Budget. Effectively control labour and expenditure within the factory in line with financial plan. Develop and update facilities to meet changing business requirements. Manage the maintenance department to ensure adequate preventative maintenance plans are developed for each machine & intermittent maintenance is performed to avoid breakdowns. Operate in line with and support the development of the ISO9001:2008 Quality Management System within the business. Key Tasks: * To meet the meeting of monthly sales output and gross margin according to the financial plan. * Manage the manufacturing personnel & factory maintenance team including managing, mentoring and developing staff. * To manage operations in line with current ISO (phone number removed) QAP’s, QAD’s, WI’s & SOP’s and to drive continuous improvement through staff engagement to meet the Company quality standards & targets. * Manage and oversee the production planning role within the factory and the manufacturing capacity plan to ensure OTIF (On Time in Full) deliveries are made in line with the target. * Contribute & implement to the rolling 3-year strategic plan for Operations. * Manage factory resources to ensure operations adhere to the HSE programme with the factory and are working safely at all times. * Create and maintain the training Matrix, set Job descriptions and manage performance targets for direct reports along with monitoring skills gaps and addressing this through recruitment in line with the financial plan. * Maintenance responsibility for the UK manufacturing facility and all equipment. * Interface with business development, Technical, Internal Sales & Finance functions. * Contribute to the development of the business to deliver stable existing products & processes. * Work alongside External sales & as part of the senior management team to develop new products and services. Key Skills: * Experience of welding/fabrication and machining. * Understanding of and support to supply chain management (including expediting, lead-time reduction, inventory management, packaging & shipping). * Manufacturing Engineering (including Process Flow examination, Standard Operations, plant layout, waste elimination, continuous improvement, engineering change control). * Experience in machine and labour capacity planning across all product lines to maximise resources, throughput and minimise overtime. * Communication, influencing, negotiating and assertiveness. * Broad engineering technical skills and knowledge of implementation across a wide range of industries. * Demonstrate Lean Manufacturing experience in a low volume environment. * Driving improvements to operating manufacturing ERP/MRP systems. * Driving improvements to ISO 9001:2008 within the manufacturing area. * Focus on delivering total Customer requirements. * Project management. * Report writing & presentation skills. * People management, including application of basic Employment Law. ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES & SKILLS: * ISO 9000:2015 Kowledge * ISO 1090 would be an advantage but not essential. * HNC/HND and NEBOSH THE HOURS/ BENEFITS: Hours: Mon-Thurs 8.30am - 5.00pm & Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm Matched Company pension contribution up to 5% 20 Days holidays + statutory days with additional 5 days in service Free Death in service cover THE PAY: You will earn up to £60k perannum dependent on experience.
