Company Overview
Concept Resources are partnering a forward-thinking and rapidly expanding facilities management company, delivering high-quality cleaning, security, and maintenance services across the UK. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and qualified Operations Manager to join our leadership team.
Role Overview
The Operations Manager will lead and support a team of Area Managers and Supervisors to ensure the delivery of exceptional facilities management services. This role requires a proactive, client-focused professional with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage contract performance, drive operational excellence, and maintain strong client relationships.
The position will be hybrid, with regular travel required across contracts, and reports directly to the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, manage, and mentor Area Managers and Supervisors to ensure high performance across multiple contracts.
* Oversee daily operations, ensuring service delivery meets contractual requirements, quality standards, and client expectations.
* Take ownership of contract P&Ls, monitoring budgets, controlling costs, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
* Support the mobilisation of new contracts, ensuring smooth transitions, compliance, and successful delivery.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the first point of escalation and ensuring a client-centric approach.
* Ensure compliance with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a proactive and collaborative culture within the team.
* Report operational performance and key metrics to the Managing Director, providing insight and recommendations.
* Travel frequently to client sites, managing relationships and monitoring performance on the ground.
Requirements
Experience & Skills
* Proven experience as an Operations Manager (or senior operational role) within the facilities management, cleaning, or related service industry.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-site teams of Area Managers/Supervisors.
* Demonstrable experience managing contract P&Ls and achieving financial targets.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with strong reporting and analysis skills.
* Experience in new contract mobilisations and operational project delivery.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, proactive mindset, and ability to work collaboratively.
* Strong client management and relationship-building skills—approachable, professional, and client-centric.
Qualifications (Preferred)
* IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
* Industry knowledge of facilities management standards, compliance, and best practices.
