Astute's Power team is exclusively partnering with a leading power generation company to recruit an Operations Technician on a 1-year Fixed Term Contract for their OCGT site in Northamptonshire. The Operations Technician role comes with a starting salary of £55,000 + benefits If you are an experienced DCS Operator who has experience in a similar environment, submit your CV to apply today. Responsibilities and duties of the Operations Technician role Reporting to the Operations Lead you will: Carry out safe and efficient start-up, shutdown, and operation of the plant in line with legislation, company procedures, and industry best practice. Monitor plant performance to achieve production targets while ensuring the integrity and reliability of equipment. Operate the plant through Control Room DCS systems, monitoring parameters, alarms, and overall system status. Undertake routine plant inspections, operational duties, and respond effectively to faults. Perform first-line and preventative maintenance tasks to support continuous plant availability. Assist in the development, review, and implementation of operational and maintenance procedures. Take on the role of Emergency Controller when required, implementing site emergency plans. Maintain all required competencies and qualifications relevant to the role, including areas such as First Aid. Work flexibly to meet changing operational and business needs. Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: Holds a level 3 qualification and is apprentice trained A HNC or higher is highly desirable Experience operating and maintain industrial plant / equipment, ideally within a power generation site A strong understanding of health and safety, including Safe Systems of Work and ideally some exposure to Safety Rules An understanding of environmental regulations and permits Ability to operate plant via DCS, and respond to alarms and abnormal conditions effectively Personal skills Ability to carry out lone-working and self-motivated Strong problem-solving ability and proactive approach Willingness to work a shift rota including nights Salary and benefits of the Operations Technician role Competitive salary starting at £55,000 Benefits package cash health plan and bonus Opportunity to join leading energy company INDPOW Astute's Power team is exclusively partnering with a leading power generation company to recruit an Operations Technician on a 1-year Fixed Term Contract for their OCGT site in Northamptonshire.
