Out of Hours Support & Security Staff - Domestic Abuse Accommodation 📍 Location: Sandwell, Birmingham 🕒 Contract & Hours: Bank (Zero hours Contract) Weekend shifts: Saturday day, Saturday night, Sunday day and Sunday night (Night shifts are 4.30pm-9.30am, Day shifts are 9am-5pm) 💷 Rate: £12.21 per hour 🚗 Travel: Between sites as required during shifts 👩 Female applicants only (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1) Are you calm under pressure, compassionate, and committed to helping women and children rebuild their lives after abuse? We're looking for Out of Hours Support and Security Staff to join our client providing safe, high quality emergency accommodation for women and children escaping domestic abuse. About the Role As part of the accommodation services team, you'll provide essential support during out-of-hours periods, including evenings, nights, and weekends. This includes welcoming new residents, managing safety and security measures, responding to emergencies, and providing emotional and practical support. You'll be the first point of contact for residents during your shift, helping ensure the accommodation remains safe, calm, and well-managed at all times. Key Responsibilities Monitor and maintain safety and security across accommodation sites during out-of-hours periods. Respond to incidents or emergencies, ensuring all residents remain safe and supported. Carry out health and safety checks, reporting repairs and managing emergencies appropriately. Complete admissions and referrals, ensuring all documentation and welfare needs are addressed. Provide emotional and practical support to residents, helping them feel safe and supported. Liaise with managers, emergency services, and partner agencies when needed. Uphold safeguarding and confidentiality standards at all times. Promote empowerment, dignity, and independence for women and children.Person Specification Experience in a housing, homelessness, or support role is essential Understanding of safeguarding, domestic abuse, and trauma-informed practice Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and handle emergencies with confidence Flexibility to work weekend and night shifts as required A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (advantageous) Must be female (Occupational Requirement, Equality Act 2010)Due to the high volume of applications we receive, if you do not hear from us within 7 working days, your application has been unsuccessful.
