Outdoor Learning and Duke of Edinburgh Instructor Location: Quorn, Leicestershire (LE12) Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:15am-4:30pm; Friday, 8:15am-3:15pm (term time only) Pay: Competitive, dependent on qualifications and experience Start Date: 26th August 2025 (interviews to take place promptly) Contract: Long Term to Permanent Empower Young People Through Outdoor Education Long Term Futures are seeking a dedicated Outdoor Learning and Duke of Edinburgh Instructor to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Quorn, working with pupils aged 6-17 with additional needs. In this role, you will create and deliver engaging outdoor learning opportunities while leading the school's Duke of Edinburgh Award programme, helping students to develop resilience, confidence, and practical life skills. Role Overview: Plan and facilitate a variety of outdoor learning sessions, including Forest School activities. Oversee and deliver the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme, managing all stages from planning through to supervising expeditions. Promote environmental awareness and responsible outdoor practices. Prioritise safety during all outdoor activities, adhering to and updating risk assessments as needed. Work collaboratively with education and therapy staff to align outdoor learning with individual pupil targets. Maintain, organise and monitor outdoor learning and DofE equipment. Contribute to the development of the outdoor learning curriculum.What We're Looking For: Duke of Edinburgh leader qualifications. Previous experience delivering and managing the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Experience working with young people, ideally including those with SEMH needs and autism.
