Job Title: Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker
Location: Coventry (with travel across the city)
Contract Type: Full-Time
A long-established women's organisation is seeking a dedicated Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker to join its Coventry-based team. This role focuses on supporting women and children affected by all forms of domestic abuse, both within the community and across the organisation's services.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and develop tailored support strategies for women and children experiencing domestic abuse.
Deliver outreach support through drop-ins, surgeries, and community engagement.
Develop policies and practice guidelines in line with organisational procedures.
Stay informed on legislative changes and emerging issues in domestic abuse.
Build links with existing projects and community services to develop joint initiatives.
Design and implement monitoring and evaluation processes to assess service impact.
Facilitate workshops, group sessions, and training for professionals and community groups.
Improve identification and referral pathways into the service.
Participate in multi-agency meetings and collaborative work.
Support and collaborate with trained volunteers and community champions.Essential Skills and Experience:
Experience supporting vulnerable individuals, particularly in domestic abuse settings.
Strong understanding of the impact of domestic violence on individuals and families
Excellent communication and people skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation
Empathetic, resilient, and non-judgemental approach
Ability to speak a BME, Eastern European, or African Caribbean language.
Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
