Outreach Tutor – Scunthorpe  £27,456–£43,014 | Full-Time (40 hours/week) Rated “Good” by Ofsted Make Every Day Matter Leader Group is recruiting on behalf of this client, an independent SEMH specialist school in Scunthorpe rated Good by Ofsted. The school provides a nurturing environment for students aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, often supported by EHCPs. Are you passionate about helping young people who’ve faced barriers in education? We’re looking for a dedicated Outreach Tutor to join our team in Scunthorpe. In this rewarding role, you’ll deliver personalised and flexible education that changes lives—whether teaching in the classroom, at home, or out in the community. You’ll help students rebuild confidence, develop life skills, and re-engage with learning in a way that works for them. About the Role You’ll be part of an independent specialist SEMH provision supporting young people aged 11–16, many with EHCPs or additional needs such as ASD or ADHD. We pride ourselves on creating a safe, understanding environment where every learner can thrive—academically, emotionally, and socially. Key Responsibilities Deliver tailored learning sessions for individuals and small groups Teach both on-site and in outreach settings (home or community-based) Prepare engaging lesson plans and resources Track progress and maintain accurate records Support personal growth, independence, and emotional resilience Manage behaviour and maintain a safe, nurturing learning space Liaise with families, carers, and external professionals What We’re Looking For Experience working with students with SEND or SEMH needs (or in alternative provision) Minimum 2 years’ experience in a relevant educational or support role QTS/QTLS desirable, but not essential Confident teaching across KS3/KS4 or Primary Flexible, creative, and committed to positive outcomes for all learners Why Join Us?
