Job Description
Blackstone Recruitment is working with a Private organisation that is recruiting a Children's Occupational Therapist to join their Specialist Primary school based in Luton.
This is a contract to start ASAP, until at least Feb 2026.
Job Summary
A specialist primary school in Luton, for children aged 4-11 years with autism and complex learning needs. This includes some children with cerebral palsy. The OT would need experience in working with children with these needs.
* To carry out specialist Occupational Therapy (OT) assessments of children/young people/adults with diverse presentations to understand the barriers to engagement in education or activities of daily living, develop goals and support the delivery of individualised intervention programmes.
* To formulate specialist plans for intervention and programmes to support the specific client groups based on sound OT understanding, which employs evidence-based practice and is integrated into the overall education, health & care plans (EHCP).
* To work independently with own caseload, under guidance of clinical supervisor/clinical lead (where less experienced), to provide direct assessment and independent/group intervention.
Job Specifics
Rate: Negotiable with experience (£28 - £45 per hour)
Working Hours: up to 5 days per week (Part time considered)
Contract Type: Temporary contract
Essential Requirements:
* BSc (Occupational Therapy) degree
* HCPC registered Occupational therapist
* Experience working with children with complex needs in school settings
