Job Description
Are you an experienced paint and blasting leader in surface preparation and coating within shipbuilding? Are you looking to relocate to Saudi Arabia? Join our client to oversee sand blasting, painting, and related activities on military vessel blocks, ensuring top quality, safety, and compliance with IACS and industry standards.
The role is based in Saudi Arabia and as a family status position the benefits include education, flight tickets and medical insurance provided for you and your and eligible dependents, along with 38 days holiday and a tax free salary.
What You'll Do:
Lead and manage sand blasting and painting teams (6-15 members) to deliver projects on time and budget.
Ensure compliance with IACS, NACE, SSPC, and other relevant standards.
Conduct inspections, audits, and enforce safety protocols, including toolbox talks.
Collaborate closely with Ship Construction Managers to align milestones and monitor performance using Earned Value Management (CPI, SPI).
Maintain accurate documentation and resolve production challenges to ensure continuity.
Oversee safe handling of heavy loads (1 to 10 tons) in line with regulations.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field (8+ years' experience), OR
Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Naval Architecture, or related field (10+ years' experience).
Minimum 3 years in a leadership role within military or commercial ship construction under IACS compliance.
Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques: sand blasting, hydro blasting, dry blasting.
Skilled in using surface profile gauges, moisture meters, and performing tape adhesion tests.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and interpreting technical drawings.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
NACE or SSPC certifications in surface preparation/coating.
Safety compliance and ship construction training.
Experience in related departments such as Production Planning, Quality, or Safety is a plus.
