Painter and Decorator – Subcontractor

-£35,000 - £38,000 pa
-Birmingham
-40hr working week
-Overtime rates

-Mileage allowance

We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, painting, and decorating interior and exterior surfaces to a high standard throughout Hotels, Cafes, Care homes & Restaurant / Pub Chains in the Midlands.

Key Responsibilities

  * Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and priming.

  * Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.

  * Decorate interior and exterior spaces according to client specifications.

  * Protect surrounding areas and furniture from damage during work.

  * Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in a clean and organised manner.

  * Communicate effectively with clients, providing advice on finishes and techniques.

  * Complete work to agreed deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  * NVQ or equivalent qualification in painting and decorating (desirable)

  * Proven experience as a painter and decorator.

  * Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and in various physical conditions.

  * Strong communication and customer service skills.

  * Health and safety awareness, including the safe use of ladders

Benefits

  * Basic salary from: £35,000 - £38,000 pa

  * 40hr working week: 8.30am – 4:30pm

  * Overtime rates

  * Mileage allowance
