Painter (Student Accommodation)
Position Overview:
We’re seeking a skilled Painter to join an ongoing temporary project, working within student accommodation properties. This role offers flexibility, competitive hourly rates, and consistent work throughout the week.
Key Details:
Working Week: Monday to Friday
Working Hours: 8 am–4 pm or 9 am–5 pm (flexi-time available)
Hourly Rate: £15.00 – £18.00 per hour
Duration: Ongoing temporary project (with potential for extension)Responsibilities:
Paint and decorate student rooms, studios, kitchens, and communal areas to a high standard
Prepare surfaces: cleaning, sanding, filling cracks/holes, masking, and priming
Apply finishes such as emulsions, gloss, varnish—and potentially wallpaper or other treatments
Handle touch-ups as needed
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in work areas; ensure safe use of ladders, and protective gear
Minimise disruption in occupied and communal student environments through courteous and professional conduct
Collaborate effectively with onsite staff and other trades to meet project goals and deadlines Required Skills & Attributes:
Proven experience in painting and decorating, especially within residential or student accommodation settings
Strong attention to detail and tidy workmanship
Ability to follow health and safety protocols and safely handle equipment
Professional, reliable, friendly, and adaptable approach to working in occupied environments
Self-motivated, capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Own tools and PPE preferred (or willingness to bring them) Preferred Qualifications (if applicable):
NVQ Level 2 in Painting & Decorating, City & Guilds, or relevant apprenticeship
Valid CSCS card and/or full UK driving license (especially if work spans multiple sites or requires travel)Benefits:
