Job Title: Automotive Panel Beater
Location: London SE28 0GW
Hours: 45hrs a week with overtime
salary £42.5k - £60k depending on experience
About Us
We are a busy, well-equipped accident repair centre located in SE28, London, specialising in high-quality vehicle body repairs for both private and fleet clients. We pride ourselves on delivering workmanship to manufacturer standards. We’re seeking a skilled and dependable Panel Beater to join our team and help maintain our reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Repair, straighten, remove and replace vehicle body panels following accident damage, to manufacturer standards.
* Use welding, bonding and riveting techniques where required.
* Operate jigs, alignment tools and other specialist equipment to ensure correct body geometry.
* Apply filler, prepare panels and ensure a smooth finish for subsequent painting.
* Work efficiently during the core hours (6am-6pm) and be available for overtime when required.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace, adhering to health & safety procedures.
* Liaise with estimators, painters and workshop leads to ensure smooth workflow and high customer satisfaction.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
* Experience as a Panel Beater (or Panel Technician) in a busy body shop environment.
* Strong understanding of vehicle body repair techniques, panel alignment and manufacturer repair standards.
* Competence using specialised tools (welding equipment, jigs, bonding tools) and following technical bulletins.
* Excellent attention to detail, strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team.
* Willingness and ability to start early (6am) and work until 6pm when required.
Desirable:
* Qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Body Repair, ATA accreditation or equivalent.
* Experience working with modern materials (aluminium, composites) and high‐strength steels.
* Own basic body shop hand tools.
* Previous experience in an accident repair centre delivering OEM repair standards.
