The Role:
The Prescribing Paramedic Practitioner will take on a varied and rewarding role, working both autonomously and as part of the wider clinical team. The successful candidate will assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients presenting with a wide range of acute, minor, and chronic conditions. Independent prescribing is central to the role, enabling timely interventions and continuity of care for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality clinical assessments for patients with undifferentiated or undiagnosed conditions
Undertake same-day and routine clinics, managing minor illness, urgent care, and chronic disease reviews where appropriate
Prescribe medications safely and effectively within the scope of practice
Perform home visits and contribute to the on-the-day demand management system
Collaborate closely with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals
Engage in clinical governance, quality improvement, and audit activities
Support patient education and health promotion within the community
Requirements:
Registered Paramedic with the HCPC
Independent Prescriber (V300 qualification essential)
Experience within primary care, urgent care, or community settings
Strong clinical decision-making and triage skills
A proactive, adaptable, and patient-focused approach
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
