Parking Services Officer - Temporary Role Location: West London Borough Council Department: Environment Salary: £26.50 per hour (Umbrella) Contract Type: Temporary (3-4 months with possibility of extension) Working Pattern: Hybrid working available - Monday to Friday coverage required About the Role We are seeking a skilled Parking Services Officer to join our Environment Department on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic local authority environment, managing penalty charge notice processing and parking enforcement functions. You'll be responsible for investigating and processing correspondence relating to Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs), making decisions on challenges and representations, and ensuring compliance with the Traffic Management Act 2004 and related traffic legislation. Key Responsibilities Process PCNs and respond to challenges, representations and appeals under Traffic Management Act 2004 Investigate correspondence and make decisions on acceptance or rejection of challenges/representations Liaise with London Tribunals, prepare cases for adjudication and represent the Council when required Manage the full PCN recovery process to ensure compliance Authorise parking bay suspensions, coordinating with relevant stakeholders Issue temporary parking waivers and dispensations Perform basic financial functions including PCN reconciliation Provide Customer Service Officer coverage Monday to Saturday as needed Collaborate with enforcement agents as required What We're Looking For Essential Requirements: Knowledge and understanding of Traffic Management Act 2004 and related traffic legislation Experience with Penalty Charge Notice regulatory frameworks Excellent written and verbal communication skills for dealing with various stakeholders Strong organisational abilities and capacity to work to tight deadlines Proficiency in IT software including Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and databases Understanding of parking policy for authorising suspensions, waivers and dispensations Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow quality management systems What We Offer Competitive hourly rate of £26.50 (Umbrella) Hybrid working arrangements available Opportunity to work in a forward-thinking local authority Potential for contract extension based on performance and business needs Flexible working opportunities in an agile workforce environment How to Apply This is a temporary position for 3-4 months with the possibility of extension.
