About the Role
As our Part-Time D1 Minibus Driver, you'll be responsible for:
Safe Pupil Transport: Safely driving school minibuses (requiring a D1 category on your licence) to transport students on daily routes to and from school, as well as for educational trips, sports fixtures, and other school events.
Vehicle Safety Checks: Conducting thorough daily and weekly vehicle checks to ensure the minibus is always roadworthy, clean, and well-maintained.
Student Welfare: Adhering to all school safeguarding policies, ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of all pupils during transit.
Flexible Hours: This is a part-time position, perfect for those seeking work during term-time with a consistent schedule (e.g., morning and afternoon routes).
School Ambassador: Representing the school with a professional and friendly demeanour, upholding our values and positive ethos.
What We're Looking For
Valid UK Driving Licence with Category D1 (unrestricted) essential.
Valid Driver CPC Qualification (unless exempt).
Clean driving record and a strong commitment to road safety.
Proven experience driving minibuses or similar vehicles, ideally in a school or passenger transport setting.
Enhanced DBS Check: You must be willing to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (or already hold one on the Update Service).
Reliable, punctual, and highly responsible.
Child-friendly demeanour: Patient, approachable, and responsible when interacting with children.
Excellent communication skills.
Familiarity with Blackburn and local routes is a plus.
