Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Teacher of English, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE), with potential opportunities for A-Level teaching depending on your experience and the school's needs.
*
Inspire students to develop strong skills in reading comprehension, analytical writing, spoken language, and critical appreciation of diverse texts.
*
Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, fostering a love for literature and effective communication.
*
Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and contributing to student reports.
*
Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and departmental resources.
*
Participate in and, where appropriate, lead extracurricular English activities, such as book clubs, creative writing workshops, or drama productions (pro-rata).

Act as a form tutor (pro-rata) and contribute positively to the wider life of the school community.
What We're Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong academic background in English Language, English Literature, or a closely related field.
*
Proven experience teaching English successfully across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 is essential, with A-Level experience being highly desirable.

A genuine passion for English and a commitment to inspiring young readers, writers, and critical thinkers.

Excellent subject knowledge, with the ability to teach a broad range of texts and genres.

A dynamic, adaptable, and innovative teaching style.
