Your Role and Responsibilities As a Part-Time Teacher of English, you will: * Plan and deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE), with potential opportunities for A-Level teaching depending on your experience and the school's needs. * Inspire students to develop strong skills in reading comprehension, analytical writing, spoken language, and critical appreciation of diverse texts. * Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, fostering a love for literature and effective communication. * Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and contributing to student reports. * Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and departmental resources. * Participate in and, where appropriate, lead extracurricular English activities, such as book clubs, creative writing workshops, or drama productions (pro-rata). * Act as a form tutor (pro-rata) and contribute positively to the wider life of the school community. What We're Looking For * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong academic background in English Language, English Literature, or a closely related field. * Proven experience teaching English successfully across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 is essential, with A-Level experience being highly desirable. * A genuine passion for English and a commitment to inspiring young readers, writers, and critical thinkers. * Excellent subject knowledge, with the ability to teach a broad range of texts and genres. * A dynamic, adaptable, and innovative teaching style. * Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and productive learning environment. * A collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
