Year 6 Teaching Assistant -          ‘Good' Primary School based in Burnley -          Part-time position -          Experience within a primary school setting essential Teaching Personnel have been approached by a Primary School situated in the outskirts of Burnley to recruit a Year 6 Teaching Assistant. The role is to commence after October half-term, the Head Teacher is looking to interview as soon as possible and is open to applications from level two and level 3 Teaching Assistants. The incoming Year 6 Teaching Assistant will enjoy the benefits of working in a 'Good' popular Primary School on the outskirts of Burnley. When the pupils join the school in the EYFS stage, the levels fall typical for their age, however when they leave in Year 6 results are generally significantly above average. The behaviour in school is excellent and the pupils are polite, well mannered and welcoming, exclusions are unheard of. Staff enjoy coming into school because behaviour is exemplary and attendance is good, in addition the support from Senior Leaders is constant and evident. The school was described by one parent as an 'asset to its community' and it has successful working relationships with numerous local groups and organisations. As a Teaching Assistant, you would work closely with the class teacher to assist in the preparation and delivery of lessons across a range of subjects such as maths, reading and writing. You would also be responsible for implementing the school’s behavioural policy. The successful candidate must have experience within a Primary School setting, preferably within key stage 2. As part of the role, you may also be asked to work on a 1:1 or small group basis to provide additional support to children who may fall below target in terms of academic or social development. Experience in supporting children preparing for SATs exams is preferable. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
