Pastoral Assistant - Crewe Area - Immediate Start - Long-Term Role
Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them to succeed beyond the classroom?
Academics are looking for a caring and proactive Pastoral Assistant to join a welcoming Secondary School near the Crewe area. This is a long-term role for this Academic Year with an immediate start available. Permanent position is available for the right candidate.
You'll be a key point of contact for students, staff, and parents - helping to promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, and engagement across all year groups.
What you'll do:
Support pupils throughout the school day, encouraging positive attitudes and behaviours.
Help manage and de-escalate behavioural issues calmly and effectively.
Liaise with teachers, pastoral leaders, and parents to ensure every pupil feels supported.
Supervise detentions, clubs, and support vulnerable pupils when needed.
Act as a friendly, visible presence around school and help create a positive atmosphere.
Act as a first aider within school (training provided).What we're looking for:
Previous experience working with young people in a school or support role.
Excellent communication and empathy skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and build positive relationships quickly.
A proactive, caring attitude and genuine interest in pupil wellbeing.
An enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one (can be processed through Academics).What's in it for you:
