Pastoral Mentor - Secondary School - Waltham Forest
Long Term Futures are working with a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Waltham Forest to appoint a Pastoral Mentor for a September 2025 start.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring for students across KS3 and KS4, supporting emotional wellbeing and behaviour
* Monitor student attendance and punctuality, liaising with families and Heads of Year
* Support teaching staff during lessons to reinforce behaviour policies and expectations
* Deliver pastoral interventions that help students build resilience, improve focus and re-engage with school life
* Help coordinate school-wide initiatives focused on behaviour, inclusion and student support
* Act as a key point of contact for a caseload of students, tracking progress and contributing to review meetings
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working in a school or youth setting in a pastoral or behaviour role
* A calm, consistent and proactive approach to student support
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with young people
* Good organisational skills, particularly around behaviour monitoring and follow-up
* An understanding of safeguarding, SEMH and positive behaviour management
Location and Transport - Waltham Forest, London
* Well connected via Lea Bridge, Walthamstow Central and Leyton Midland stations
* Local bus routes: 48, 55, 56, 69, 97
* Easily commutable from East and North East London
