Pastoral Support Officer – Immediate Start | Full-Time | Long-Term Placement
Education Personnel are seeking an experienced and committed Pastoral Support Officer to join a thriving secondary academy in Derby. This full-time role is to start as soon as possible, working five days a week, and will run until at least Christmas, with a high likelihood of continuing until the end of the academic year.

Role Overview
As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will be central to maintaining the wellbeing, behaviour and personal development of students. Key responsibilities may include:

Delivering 1:1 and small-group pastoral interventions

Supporting behaviour management across the school
*
Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
*
Working closely with safeguarding teams and external agencies
*
Managing key pastoral cases and contributing to intervention plans
*
Helping maintain a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment
What You Need
We are looking for individuals who have:

Previous pastoral support experience in a school or youth setting
*
Strong communication, empathy and resilience
*
Effective behaviour management skills
*
A genuine commitment to helping young people overcome barriers
You will also need:

Registration with Education Personnel (or willingness to register)
*
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
*
Two professional references
*
Full compliance clearance prior to starting
Pay Rate
*
£120–£130 per day, depending on experience
