Pastoral Support Officer - Secondary Schools - Daventry Location: Daventry Start Date: September 2025 Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term / Permanent Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) Are you passionate about supporting the emotional wellbeing and development of young people? We are seeking committed and compassionate Pastoral Support Officers to join forward-thinking secondary schools in Daventry from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a rewarding role supporting young people to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential in and out of the classroom. Role Overview As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will be a vital member of the school community, working closely with students, families, and staff to provide both proactive and responsive support. You'll help promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where all students feel seen, heard, and valued. Key Responsibilities Deliver 1:1 and group pastoral interventions to support student wellbeing Support behaviour, attendance, and engagement strategies across the school Act as a key adult and positive role model for students needing additional emotional support Assist in running daily student check-ins, behaviour reports, and wellbeing tracking Support the safeguarding team in identifying and responding to concerns Build strong relationships with parents/carers, external agencies, and school staff Supervise and support students in reflection, reset, or internal exclusion rooms Promote resilience, respect, and responsibility throughout the school Ideal Candidate Experience working with young people in educational, youth work, or community settings (preferred) Calm, approachable, and empathetic nature Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Confident in managing sensitive conversations and challenging behaviour Strong understanding of pastoral care and safeguarding practices (training provided) Committed to helping all students feel supported and included A proactive team player with a genuine desire to make a difference What We Offer A long-term, meaningful role in a supportive Daventry secondary school Weekly pay with competitive rates based on experience Access to ongoing training in safeguarding, mental health, and behaviour support A dedicated and friendly team who champion your professional growth An opportunity to create lasting change in the lives of young people How to Apply If you are ready to make a positive impact and support students to succeed both personally and academically, we would love to hear from you.
