About the School This exceptional school: strives to be the best in the world at what it does offers staff the chance to go from good to excellent through high-quality development is respected locally and nationally across education and the creative sectors believes every pupil deserves the very best boasts a modern, well-resourced and inspiring work environment The Role: Pastoral Support Team Member As part of a committed and skilled Pastoral Support Team, you will: Use your strengths to support student wellbeing and improve their capacity to learn Help students develop emotional self-regulation and build positive, trusting relationships Guide students in reflecting on actions and feelings when things go wrong Develop a strong understanding of each student's SEND needs to support the reflect-repair-reconnect process Be proactive in de-escalating behaviour using appropriate strategies and techniques Build meaningful pastoral relationships that support personal development Work collaboratively with the Pastoral Support Team Lead, teachers, and support staff to shape future learning through accurate, grounded assessments Who We're Looking For You will be someone who is: Committed, enthusiastic, flexible, and incredibly resilient Patient, calm, resourceful, and dedicated to promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing Able to form strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues Passionate about the transformative potential of schools in young people's lives Experienced in working with children who have social, emotional, or behavioural needs Clear on your understanding of high-quality teaching and learning for SEN pupils A team player with strong initiative and a willingness to learnGood literacy and numeracy skills are essential. A strong track record within pastoral or SEN support roles is highly desirable. About the Students The students: are fantastic, unique, and full of potential-but not an "easy ride"! typically join from mainstream settings where large environments haven't worked for them stay until 16-17 before progressing to local colleges or training have a range of Learning Needs, SLCN, and Emotional Needs achieve qualifications up to GCSE/BTEC make significant academic, personal, and social progress during their time at the school Additional Information Small classes: 2 per year group, each with 11-12 students 30 lessons per week including assembly A strong culture of professional development-afterschool CPD is part of the working week A diverse team with experience across primary, secondary, special, AP, and FE A National Support School championing excellence in education nationwide Why Apply Through SANZA?
