Job Description

Payroll & Benefits Specialist Salary: £35k + Benefits Location: Worcester (Hybrid working available) Reports to: Head of People & Culture (with dotted line to Finance Director) Precision. Integrity. Reliability. If that’s you, read on. Our client is a trusted leader in Technical Services and Asset Management with a national presence. They are seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist who’ll ensure their people are paid accurately, on time, and with absolute confidence every single month. This is a role for someone who thrives on getting the details right someone who understands that payroll is the heartbeat of an organisation. You’ll take ownership of the full payroll lifecycle across multiple entities, manage our benefits portfolio, and play a key role in maintaining compliance and employee trust. What You’ll Do Manage Sage Payroll and Sage HR systems, ensuring data accuracy and integration with finance. Process monthly payroll — including salaries, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and statutory payments. Ensure full compliance with UK legislation (PAYE, NI, pensions, HMRC, and statutory reporting). Prepare and submit all statutory documents, including P45s, P60s, and year-end returns. Administer employee benefits programmes — including pensions, healthcare, life assurance, and voluntary schemes. Collaborate closely with the People & Culture and Finance teams to ensure seamless data flow and compliance. Generate reports and analytics for payroll accuracy, gender pay reporting, and reconciliation audits. Resolve payroll queries with clarity, accuracy, and discretion. What You’ll Bring 3–5 years’ experience in payroll and benefits administration (multi-entity experience preferred). Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC regulations. Proficiency with Sage Payroll, Sage HR, or similar HRIS/payroll systems. Meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy. High integrity when handling confidential employee data. Excellent time management thrives on meeting tight deadlines. Ideally CIPP-qualified (Foundation, Diploma, or Advanced) or equivalent payroll certification. Why Apply ?
