Job Description
Are you an experienced Payroll Manager ready to take full ownership of payroll operations? Our client, a respected healthcare provider, is seeking a dedicated and detail-driven Payroll Manager to join their team on a sole-charge basis.
🔍 About the Role:
As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of the in-house payroll for approximately 250 employees. You'll ensure the smooth, accurate, and timely execution of monthly payroll, including statutory deductions, reporting, and compliance.
This is a hands-on role that also offers the opportunity to support occasional HR tasks, including employee onboarding, benefits administration, and maintaining HR records.
🛠 Key Responsibilities:
Full ownership of in-house monthly payroll processing
Calculating salaries, deductions, pensions, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.)
HMRC submissions and compliance with UK payroll legislation
Producing reports for finance and management teams
Supporting HR with administrative tasks, onboarding, and employee queries
Maintaining employee data and ensuring confidentiality
✅ What We're Looking For:
Proven experience managing payroll independently (preferably in-house)
Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
Experience with payroll software (e.g., IRIS Cascade, Sage, ADP, or similar)
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Friendly and professional communication style
Exposure to HR processes is desirable
