Payroll Manager Leicester – office based C£50,000 p.a. The Company: ER Recruitment are on the lookout for a skilled and dependable Payroll Manager to join a thriving, growing team at a respected UK business headquartered in Leicester. You’ll be responsible for leading and delivering accurate, timely payroll processes for a diverse workforce, working closely with internal teams to ensure smooth operations and compliance. Role & Responsibilities of the Payroll Manager: * Take ownership of the end-to-end payroll cycle, handling both fortnightly and monthly payrolls efficiently and accurately. * Manage the payroll database, ensuring updates for new starters, leavers, and employee changes are reflected promptly. * Work in close collaboration with HR to ensure accurate deductions including tax, NI, court orders and other adjustments. * Input and verify variable data such as overtime, bonuses, and other payments. * Track and communicate changes in statutory allowances, including mileage and fuel rate updates. * Prepare and share payroll summaries for finance reconciliation. * Handle payroll-related queries, resolving discrepancies and ensuring clear records are kept. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and ensure payroll practices are fully compliant. * Act as the point of contact for HMRC and other external bodies regarding payroll matters. * Support wider business and ad hoc duties as needed. About You as the Payroll Manager: * Proven experience managing payroll from start to finish. * Confidence using payroll software systems (specific platforms not required, but adaptability is key). * Excellent time management and ability to meet multiple deadlines. * High level of accuracy and attention to detail. * Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with HR and Finance.
