Job Description
Daniel Owen are currently seeking experienced PCV Bus Shunters to join our team based in Hilsea, Portsmouth. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with a background in driving large vehicles, who are looking for a hands-on role in a busy transport environment.
We are looking for individuals who can hit the ground running, with a strong understanding of vehicle manoeuvring and a professional approach to safety. If you have a PCV licence or relevant experience and enjoy working independently, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Safely manoeuvre and park large buses within tight operational areas.
Ensure vehicles are positioned correctly for operational requirements, maintaining high safety standards at all times.
Conduct regular safety checks on vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy before moving them.
Communicate effectively with the control centre and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
Assist in the cleaning and general maintenance of buses as required.
Adhere to all company policies and health & safety procedures.
Support the team in any other duties as required to ensure efficient running of the depot.
Key Requirements:
Experience driving large vehicles is essential (ideally buses or similar).
A PCV licence is preferable, though not essential for the right candidate.
Proven ability to manoeuvre and park large vehicles within confined spaces.
Strong understanding of vehicle safety protocols and procedures.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
Highly reliable and punctual.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure, especially during busy periods.
A flexible and proactive attitude towards tasks and responsibilities.
