Smile Education’s Specialist SEN Team are delighted to be supporting a specialist school in Sandwell in their search for a dedicated and qualified PE Teacher. This full-time role will begin in January and run until at least Easter, with the possibility of extension.
The school caters for pupils aged 7–19 with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and a range of additional needs. They deliver a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to individual learners, ensuring every pupil can progress, thrive, and leave school with meaningful accredited qualifications. About the Role
Full-time PE Teacher position
Start date: January
Duration: Until at least Easter
Teach and support students with MLD and additional needs
Deliver motivating, differentiated PE lessons
Create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment
Become an active and supportive member of the wider school communityThe Ideal Candidate Will: ✔ Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
✔ Have experience teaching students with MLD and a range of additional needs
✔ Be confident in differentiating lessons to meet diverse needs
✔ Demonstrate a positive, encouraging approach to learning
✔ Embrace the school’s ethos of Safe, Happy and Learning Together
✔ Commit fully to the role and immerse themselves in school life
✔ Be a strong team player with excellent communication skills
✔ Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through Smile
✔ Provide two references covering the past two years, including comments on work with children
