Job Title: PE Teacher in Wandsworth, Southwest-London Start Date: ASAP (June 2025) Contract Type: Full-time, Temp-to-Perm Salary: Paid to Scale Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm Brief description: Deliver inclusive and engaging PE lessons to students with SEMH needs aged 5-19 within a supportive, specialist setting. About the school: A special school in Wandsworth supporting boys aged 5 to 19 with social, emotional and mental health needs. All pupils have an EHCP and benefit from personalised, therapeutic support to enable learning and development. The school is committed to fostering resilience, independence, and respect in all learners, with a curriculum tailored to individual needs. About the role: We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic SEN PE Teacher to join a dedicated team supporting pupils across all key stages with complex SEMH needs. You will deliver physical education that promotes teamwork, physical health, confidence, and emotional well-being. We're looking for a dedicated candidate to: Create a safe and structured environment for physical activity Plan and deliver tailored PE lessons to meet a wide range of needs and abilities Promote positive attitudes towards health, fitness, and team spirit Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour during physical activity Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team including therapists and support staff Foster strong relationships with pupils, families, and colleaguesRequirements - The ideal candidate would have: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) Specialism or strong background in Physical Education Experience teaching pupils with SEMH or additional needs A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills A motivating, resilient, and compassionate approachOnly shortlisted candidates will be contacted Prospero Teaching is acting as an employment business/education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy.
