Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated PE Teacher to join our specialist team supporting children and young people with a range of special educational needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by promoting physical development, health, and wellbeing, while adapting lessons to meet diverse individual needs. The school aims to support all students with their specific needs and barriers to learning to enable them to reach their full potential both academically and in terms of managing their behaviour. This is achieved by providing high quality teaching and learning and by using assessment, engagement and developing educational programmes. The Academy works actively with students and their parents/carers to ensure positive outcomes for all. Ofsted Rated: Good Parking in local vicinity Long term role with a view to being permanant. Key Responsibilities * Plan, deliver, and assess engaging PE lessons tailored to pupils with varying abilities and needs (including ASC, SEMH, MLD, and complex needs). * Promote physical literacy, teamwork, confidence, and resilience through a broad curriculum of sports and physical activities. * Adapt equipment, resources, and teaching strategies to ensure accessibility and inclusion for all learners. * Work collaboratively with therapists, support staff, and other teachers to provide a holistic learning experience. * Contribute to extra-curricular activities, enrichment programmes, and whole-school wellbeing initiatives. * Maintain high expectations of behaviour, while using positive behaviour support strategies in line with school policies. What We’re Looking For * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS) – with a specialism in Physical Education. * Experience of working in SEN settings or a strong willingness to learn and adapt teaching approaches. * Creativity, patience, and enthusiasm for inclusive sport and physical activity. * A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and enabling every young person to achieve their full potential.
