Aspire People are working in partnership with a well-respected secondary school in Ashton-under-Lyne to recruit a passionate and skilled Performing Arts Technician Trainer (Sound).
This is a unique opportunity to join a dedicated Performing Arts department, supporting the technical development of students while playing a key role in the smooth delivery of performances and productions.
🔊 About the Role:
This hands-on position is ideal for someone with strong experience in live sound and theatre technology, who is confident in both technical operation and student support. The successful candidate will work alongside teaching staff to deliver technical training and guidance to students, maintain and prepare technical equipment, and manage the sound design for a variety of productions and performances throughout the academic year.
🛠 Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain and set up sound systems for rehearsals, shows and events.
- Provide technical instruction and support to students on sound design and live audio production.
- Support curriculum delivery by demonstrating practical skills and techniques in a classroom setting.
- Maintain an inventory of technical equipment and ensure all is in safe working order.
- Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff across the department.
🎓 The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have proven experience in live sound, theatre production or technical theatre.
- Be confident working with young people in an educational setting.
- Possess a strong understanding of audio software, mixing desks, and microphone setups.
- Be highly organised, enthusiastic, and an excellent communicator.
- Have an up-to-date enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain one through Aspire People).
