Job Summary
The position of Personal Assistant to Abacus’ Director is a varied and rewarding role for a highly organised and proactive individual who thrives on supporting others and keeping operations running smoothly. As PA to the Director, you will play a key role in coordinating the Director’s schedule, handling confidential matters, and ensuring effective communication across the business. Alongside this, you will take the lead on core office management duties, contributing to a positive and productive working environment. The role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with leadership while gaining hands-on experience in multiple areas of business operations.
The priority of Abacus' service is to ensure the People We Support receive specially considered support, individual to their needs.
You will be required to work autonomously at times as well as part of a team. You will set an example for all staff and be an ambassador for Abacus.
The post-holder will promote the dignity and independence of People We Support who, at all times, will remain the heart of the service.
Job Description
The Personal Assistant (PA) to the Director will provide critical organisational and administrative support to the Director while also overseeing a variety of office management duties. This hybrid role is key to ensuring the Director’s time is used efficiently, while maintaining smooth day-to-day operations within the office. The PA will be expected to be flexible, highly organised, and proactive in managing the Director’s diary, handling communications, assisting with key operational functions, and liaising with staff across departments.
You will need to demonstrate discretion and efficiency in all aspects of this role, supporting the Director and wider team to achieve the company’s objectives. You will also play a key role in the smooth running of office operations, liaising with departments to ensure the work environment is productive and well-maintained.

You will be a hardworking individual with great administrative, organisational and communication skills. You will be capable of working flexibly and adaptively to support service operation. Your approach to operational success will be positive, creative and perceptive.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience
Education and Qualifications
You are not required to hold specific qualifications prior to commencement, and you will receive sufficient support and training. However, a background in administration, business support or similar would be beneficial.
Experience
You will have proven experience of:

Working in a Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant, or senior administrative support role
*
Supporting senior leaders, including diary and inbox management
*
Managing a varied workload and coordinating across multiple functions
*
Maintaining and improving administrative processes and systems
*
Organising meetings, preparing documentation and taking accurate minutes
*
Handling confidential information with discretion
*
Using IT systems confidently, including Microsoft Office applications
