Job Description

Personal Carer for young adult who has Cerebral Palsy, epilepsy and other health issues.

A Temporary post has become available to join our small team of carers. Who offer around the clock care for our 19 year old son in our home.

We are looking for an experienced person, who can work with someone with complex needs. You must be able to work alongside other members of the care team and have good communication skills which will motivate and encourage our sons slapstick personality. preferrably you would hold a clean driving licence and be a non smoker due to the health needs of our son.

Duties include:

  * Preparing and adminstering medication.

  * Undertaking a high level of personal care tasks (dressing, bathing, eating)

  * Maintaining a 24 hour postural support programme.

  * Giving food/medication via his gastrostomy button

  * Supporting him whilst out in the community.

  * Encouraging his cheeky personality to shine through.

  * To monitor and assess his current health status.

  * To complete daily records.

  * To cover a variety of shifts including split shifts, afternoon and night shifts

We can offer:

  * A probationary period with a starting wage of £13.91 per hour rising to £14.44, on completion of a satisfactory induction.

  * All training and expenses covered.

  * An indepth induction

  * weekend enhancements for any hours worked .

  * Double pay for bank holidays

  * A happy freindly team to work in.
