Job Description

PHP Developer (Yii Framework) – Contract

Location: Hybrid (2–3 days onsite)

Rate: Up to £400 per day (Outside IR35)

Contract Length: 6 months

Our client, a leading organisation within the digital solutions space, is seeking a PHP Developer with strong Yii framework experience to support the delivery of scalable, high-quality web applications on an initial 6-month contract.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to key projects, enhance existing platforms, and work within a collaborative, delivery-focused environment.

What you’ll do

Develop, maintain, and optimise web applications using PHP and Yii

Collaborate with front-end developers and designers to deliver seamless user experiences

Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code

Participate in code reviews and uphold development best practices

Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing applications

You’ll work closely with product, design, and QA teams to deliver robust solutions at pace.

What we’re looking for

Strong commercial experience with PHP development

Proven experience using the Yii framework (Yii2 preferred)

Solid understanding of MVC architecture

Experience working with MySQL or similar relational databases

Familiarity with RESTful APIs and version control (Git)

The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach, strong problem-solving skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced contract environment.
