Job Description

Location: Bracknell, Berkshire Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: MPS1 (ECT Scale) A forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Bracknell is seeking a newly qualified Physics ECT to join their dynamic science faculty from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent role, ideal for an early career teacher who is eager to make a difference in a highly supportive environment. ECTs are valued and guided through a rich induction programme with regular CPD. The Science Department The Science department is composed of specialists across all disciplines. You will join a team committed to inspiring students with a love of experimentation, inquiry, and critical thinking. As a Physics ECT, you’ll work closely with a mentor and benefit from high-quality resources and lab equipment. Role Expectations * Teach Physics across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities for A-Level teaching in Year 2 * Use interactive demonstrations and experiments to inspire scientific curiosity * Assess and track student progress using formative and summative strategies * Contribute to science clubs, STEM competitions, and enrichment programmes * Collaborate with the science team to develop inclusive and engaging curriculum content Candidate Profile * Physics or Engineering-related degree * PGCE with QTS (or completing by July 2025) * Strong classroom presence and enthusiasm for science education * Willingness to contribute to school life and pastoral care
