Pay: £23 - £25 per hour + Overtime + Annual Bonus + Pension
A growing engineering manufacturer in North Devon is strengthening its workshop team following continued expansion, new project wins and significant investment in a brand-new manufacturing facility.
Specialising in stainless steel process systems for the food and process engineering sectors, the business designs, manufactures and installs bespoke hygienic pipework, process equipment and structural steelwork for major food production facilities throughout the UK.
They are now looking for an experienced Pipe Welder to join the team, working from their modern Winkleigh facility on specialist stainless steel systems and equipment.
With a strong pipeline of long-term work, this is an opportunity to secure a permanent position within an expanding engineering business while working on technically varied projects.
The Role
As a Pipe Welder, you’ll report directly to the Managing Director and take a hands-on role in the fabrication and welding of bespoke stainless steel process systems.
Your work will cover hygienic process pipework, steam systems and associated stainless steel equipment, with a strong focus on achieving the required quality, compliance and coded welding standards.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate, assemble and weld stainless steel pipework and process systems
Carry out MIG and TIG welding to coded standards
Manufacture hygienic process and steam pipework for specialist applications
Read and work from P&ID drawings, fabrication drawings and engineering specifications
Ensure completed work meets relevant quality, compliance and industry requirements
Carry out inspections and quality checks throughout the manufacturing process
Work closely with design, project management and installation teams
Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised workshop
Support continuous improvement across workshop processes and standards About You
We’re interested in hearing from experienced welders, fabricators and pipework specialists who have worked within hygienic process environments such as food manufacturing, dairy, brewing, pharmaceutical or similar industries.
For this Pipe Welder position, you’ll ideally have:
Proven experience fabricating and welding stainless steel pipework
Strong MIG and TIG welding capabilities
Experience with hygienic process and steam pipe systems
Current coded welding qualifications and certifications
Confidence reading and interpreting P&ID drawings
A good understanding of fabrication drawings and engineering documentation
Previous experience supporting or leading workshop activities
Strong attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality work
A practical, proactive approach to problem-solving
A strong commitment to safe working practices Desirable

Good levels of weekday and weekend overtime
