The Opportunity A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a skilled Piping Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team supporting nuclear infrastructure across two major UK defence sites. This is a long-term contract opportunity offering hybrid working and the chance to contribute to high-impact safety and design work in a regulated environment.
We would also welcome applications from these industries: oil & gas, marine engineering, defence, energy, and heavy industrial manufacturing.
This role would suit candidates working in these roles: Mechanical Engineer, Pipe Stress Analyst, Nuclear Engineer, Safety Case Engineer, Design Engineer, Structural Engineer, Systems Engineer, Project Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or Technical Assessor.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Develop and maintain engineering design substantiation documents for nuclear infrastructure systems.
Lead and assess design changes and concessions, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Present technical justifications to internal safety committees and stakeholders.
Produce and review Examination, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing (EIMT) schedules and procedures.
Provide expert engineering advice across multi-disciplinary teams and external partners.You will have the following qualifications and experience
Proven experience in piping engineering within industrial or high-risk environments.
Strong understanding of British and European design standards and practices.
Skilled in pipe stress analysis and hazard-resistant design assessment.
Capable of producing robust technical documentation to support design modifications.
