Location: Lower Dicker
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time, Permanent
We are seeking an experienced Planner to join a growing precision engineering business based in Lower Dicker. This is a forward-looking planning role where you’ll ensure that customer expectations are met, on-time delivery goals are achieved, and continuous improvement is driven across the organisation.
As a Planner, you will take ownership of planning all products through manufacturing cells, liaising with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain functions to ensure smooth delivery. You will maximise the use of order management systems, resolve critical issues, and provide cross-functional support to reduce delays and enhance efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership of planning all products through manufacturing cells
* Liaise with Sales to agree delivery dates before order input
* Maximise use of ERP order management systems and ensure order visibility
* Identify and resolve critical items and issues
* Produce and publish planning and delivery performance metrics
* Support production and purchasing teams during absences
Essential Skills & Experience
* ERP planning experience
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Ability to make effective decisions within guidelines
* Strong organisational skills, able to meet timeframes under pressure
* Engineering competence in machining and assembly (advantage)
Desirable Skills & Experience
* 5+ years’ production planning experience
* Microsoft Dynamics AX experience
* Experience in a manufacturing and assembly organisation
* Strong analytical and numeracy skills, with solid Excel knowledge
Qualifications
* ONC/HNC in Engineering/Manufacturing or a relevant planning/purchasing qualification
