Job Description
The Danny Sullivan Group are currently looking for a Planner with a strong background in the water sector to support major infrastructure projects under the Southern Water framework.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading Civil Engineering and Infrastructure contractor delivering critical water and wastewater schemes as part of a £3.1bn Strategic Development Partnership. With the AMP8 investment cycle now in full swing, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the delivery of Southern Water’s long-term infrastructure improvements.
Responsibilities:
Lead planning activities across a range of water and wastewater projects, from early design through to construction and handover.
Prepare and manage detailed project programmes using Primavera P6 in accordance with NEC contract requirements.
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including design, engineering, and construction teams to maintain accurate and achievable schedules.
Ensure key milestones, critical paths, and resource requirements are clearly communicated and managed throughout the project lifecycle.
Identify planning risks and opportunities, contributing to risk mitigation strategies and value engineering solutions.
Produce and maintain progress reports, lookaheads, and performance updates in collaboration with project and commercial teams.
Assist in the preparation of programme narratives for inclusion in monthly client reporting packs.
Support the development and refinement of planning procedures and best practices across the Southern Water portfolio.Qualifications & Experience:
Proven experience working on complex infrastructure projects, ideally in the water or utilities sector.
Strong proficiency with Primavera P6 and a solid understanding of NEC contract planning principles.
Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present schedule data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working on multi-disciplinary projects and managing multiple workstreams concurrently.
Ability to collaborate effectively with client teams, consultants, and subcontractors.
