Penguin Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a market-leading organisation in the waste management and environmental services sector in their search for a Planning and Development Manager. The Role
As a Planning and Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the company's planning and development strategy across its operational portfolio. You will be responsible for:
Leading and managing planning applications, appeals, and EIAs for waste management and associated development projects.
Advising on planning policy and regulatory requirements relevant to the business.
Engaging with local authorities, regulators, landowners, and key stakeholders to build strong relationships.
Identifying and evaluating new development opportunities.
Managing external consultants and coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams.
Supporting the wider business with planning and development advice to ensure compliance and strategic growth.
About You
We are looking for an experienced and commercially aware professional with:
A relevant degree in Town Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related field.
MRTPI or equivalent professional qualification (desirable).
Proven experience in planning and development, ideally within waste, minerals, or infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of planning legislation and policy in the UK.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
The ability to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines.
